Nobody commands the screen quite like Cate Blanchett. The two Oscars, four BAFTAs and four Golden Globe Awards might speak for themselves, but the Australian actor’s talent remains boundless, and often indescribable. 

Since gaining international acclaim for her role of Queen Elizabeth I in 1998’s Elizabeth, Blanchett has continued to defy expectation and find both elegance and intimidation in everything she does. That might be playing a Hollywood starlet for Martin Scorsese or Bob Dylan for Todd Haynes, as much as trailblazing queer women including a lovesick divorcee in Carol or a disgraced orchestra conductor in the knotty, endlessly complex drama Tár.

Nearly three decades into her career, Blanchett continues to pave the way in blockbuster franchises as much as independent pearls. It’s no wonder she’s been showered with prestigious governmental awards around the world as well – we’re honoured to finally welcome her to the family.
